About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Technician with an electrical or mechanical background to join a growing, forward-thinking energy business. You’ll play a key part in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of flexible power generation and battery storage sites across the UK.
The ideal candidate will be confident working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, with a solid understanding of industrial operations and maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities*Operate and maintain flexible power generation equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and uptime.
*Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
*Support the Area Operations Team in monitoring performance and reporting on plant status.
*Accurately record maintenance activities, parts usage, and site data using company IT systems.
*Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
*Participate in a structured training and development programme to build technical competence.
*Provide call-out support following appropriate training to address unplanned breakdowns.
*Identify and escalate technical or safety issues promptly to site management.
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
*ONC level qualification (or equivalent experience) in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
*2–3 years’ experience in an industrial, engineering, or power generation environment.
*Strong understanding of general engineering principles and safe work practices.
*Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
*Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across multiple sites.
Desirable:
*Experience with reciprocating gas engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or solar projects.
*Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and industrial engines.
*Familiarity with CMMS systems and asset management software.
*IOSH Working Safely or CITB Competence Scheme Card.
