Job Description:
Credit Controller
*Annual Salary: £29,000
*Location: To be specified
*Job Type: Full-time - Maternity Contract
Join our team as a Credit Controller, where you will manage both branch and corporate accounts to ensure efficient cash collection and credit management. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and excels in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Cash Collection
*Manage cash collection for both branch and corporate accounts.
*Proactively chase outstanding payments through various channels.
*Minimise overdue debt, particularly in the 60- and 90-day categories.
Cash Allocation
*Process BACS and cheque payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts and specific invoices.
*Regularly reconcile ledgers and unallocated cash.
*Perform weekly reconciliation of cash sale accounts.
Credit Management
*Monitor accounts exceeding 20% of their credit limit and submit reviews as necessary.
*Ensure accounts remain within approved credit limits.
Credit Holds
*Place accounts on hold when appropriate.
*Communicate hold status clearly to both internal teams and external customers.
Customer Queries
*Handle inbound calls and correspondence regarding account queries.
*Record all interactions accurately and promptly.
*Collaborate with branch teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Escalation
*Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager in a timely manner.
General Duties
*Produce customer reports and perform general administrative tasks as required.
*Provide cover for absent team members when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
*Demonstrates energy, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
*High level of numerical accuracy and reconciliation skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of learning internal systems quickly.
