Reed is proud to be supporting a leading UK-based freight forwarding business in their search for a Business Development Manager to cover the North West region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and commercially minded logistics professional to join a dynamic, service-led organisation with a strong reputation in international supply chain solutions.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint across the North West. You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting a wide range of freight forwarding services including air, sea, and road logistics.
This is a consultative sales role suited to someone who understands the complexities of global logistics and thrives on delivering tailored solutions that add real value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
*Identify and secure new business opportunities across the North West region
*Promote the company’s full suite of freight forwarding services, including time-critical shipments, charter services, and customs support
*Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across various industries
*Collaborate with internal operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery
*Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities to raise brand awareness
*Maintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline progress using CRM tools
What We’re Looking For
*Proven track record in B2B sales within freight forwarding or logistics
*Strong understanding of international shipping solutions and supply chain processes
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
*Ability to travel across the North West region for client visits
Desirable
*Experience selling air, sea, and road freight services
*Knowledge of customs procedures and documentation
*Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
