Financial Controller | Financial Controller Opportunity | London
We’re partnering with a group of established, fast-growing businesses in the retail sector to appoint a Financial Controller - an exceptional opportunity for a technically strong qualified accountant ready to move into a newly created Financial Controller leadership.
The Opportunity
This role offers genuine ownership and exposure across all aspects of finance - from core reporting and controls through to business partnering and strategic input. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to enhance financial performance, implement best-practice processes, and provide meaningful insight to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
*Oversee financial controls, balance sheet integrity, and statutory compliance
*Partner with department heads to translate financial data into actionable insights
*Broad responsibilities also including AR, AP, VAT, payroll, and management accounts.
*Support the implementation of systems and process improvements as the business scales
About You
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), ideally trained in a reputable practice or high-quality finance function
*Strong technical grounding in financial and management reporting
*Excellent attention to detail, balanced with a commercial mindset
*Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
*Ambitious, proactive, and ready to step up into a true Financial Controller remit
