Experienced Contracts Manager (Passive Fire Protection)
Location: Ramsgate, Kent
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: 2–3 days in the office, remainder visiting sites across the UK
About the Role
We are excited to be advertising this fantastic opportunity on behalf of our client based in Ramsgate. Due to significant growth and an increase in workload, they are seeking an Experienced Contracts Manager with a strong technical background and proven ability to lead projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing small to large contracts within the Passive Fire Protection sector, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of a high-performing team. The position requires flexibility to travel across the UK (50%–75% of the time) while maintaining a strong presence in the office for planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and safety standards.
*Oversee day-to-day delivery of projects in a safe, timely, and profitable manner.
*Estimate and quantify works accurately.
*Embed yourself within client delivery teams and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
*Build, develop, and support the operational team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
*Provide operational and commercial support, including programme planning, risk assessments, and chairing meetings.
*Monitor progress against programmes and provide clear direction to achieve construction and financial targets.
*Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and site processes.
*Ensure all company and site health & safety rules are adhered to, including RAMS for all tasks.
*Handle queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
*Attend and contribute to operational, management, and internal team meetings.
*Maintain HSEQ standards in line with company procedures and industry legislation.
About You
*Confident, motivated, and hands-on, with the ability to work under pressure.
*Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
*Strong technical knowledge and contract management experience.
*Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
*In-depth understanding of CDM regulations and HSEQ requirements.
*Experience managing subcontractors and preparing detailed progress reports.
*Working knowledge of Passive Fire Protection systems.
Essential Requirements
*Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in Passive Fire Protection.
*Valid CSCS card.
*Valid SMSTS certification.
*Full, clean UK driving licence.
