Technical Coordinator
*Location: Sunderland
*Job Type: Full-time
Day-to-day of the role:
* Quality and Safety System Management (40%):
*Ensure all customer codes of practice are implemented and maintained.
*Create and amend technical documents, maintain the emergency contact list.
*Approve raw materials, conduct risk assessments, and manage ongoing raw material specifications.
*Conduct routine micro and chemical testing and surveillance of raw materials and finished goods.

* Specification and Compliance (20%):
*Generate and maintain internal and external specifications, procedures, policies, labels, and Quality Assurance Standards (QAS).
*Lead organoleptic testing and benchmarking both internally and externally.

* Quality Control and Auditing (30%):
*Investigate complaints, respond and trend them.
*Generate KPI reports for the site team and Leadership Team.
*Maintain calibration of all equipment to ensure product quality, safety, and legality.
*Conduct internal and external supplier audits.
*Participate as a member of the HACCP and TACCP teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in a technical role within a food production or similar environment.
*Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and Food Safety Systems.
*Experience with customer and third-party standards.
*Ability to conduct and lead audits and risk assessments.
*Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
*Strong communication skills for effective internal and external coordination.
Challenges:
*Meeting deadlines for specification completion while managing day-to-day duties.
*Responding to complaints within 48 hours.
*Gathering information for KPI reports efficiently.
