Transport Planner
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Transport Planner to take the lead in coordinating and optimising daily transport operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll ensure goods move efficiently, schedules run smoothly, and customers receive outstanding service.
What You’ll Do
*Organise and oversee day-to-day transport activities to guarantee timely deliveries.
*Use transport planning tools and dispatch systems to create efficient routes and allocate resources.
*Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring service standards are consistently exceeded.
*Work closely with drivers, suppliers, and depots to maintain seamless communication across the network.
*Keep accurate records and manage essential administrative tasks within the transport office.
*Identify opportunities to improve pallet utilisation and reduce operational costs.
*Monitor performance metrics and resolve issues quickly to maintain high service levels.
*Approach challenges with a proactive mindset and deliver practical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
*Proven experience in a Transport Planner role.
*Strong understanding of transport management systems and route planning software.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*Detail-oriented with a problem-solving approach.
*Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00-17:00 or 8:00-18:00
Salary: Starting from £32,500 per year (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
