Java Developer - Inside IR35 (2 Days On-site, Telford)

We’re seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a high-performing delivery team within a large-scale central government modernisation programme. You’ll work as part of an Agile Scrum team made up of Java Engineers, Front-End Developers, and Quality Engineers, contributing to the transformation of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-based services.
Location: Telford (2 days on-site per week)

Key Responsibilities * Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based microservices and APIs

* Build and test RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and JUnit

* Apply Kubernetes for containerisation and deployment

* Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

* Write clean, maintainable code following best practices in secure development

* Support continuous integration, testing, and deployment activities

Essential Skills & Experience * Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot

* Solid understanding of REST API development and JSON

* Proficiency in JUnit for unit testing

* Experience deploying microservices using Kubernetes

* Proven background working in complex technical environments, ideally from regulated sectors such as Banking, Finance, Insurance, Utilities, or Telecommunications
