Are you a patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual looking to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Surbiton, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Complex Needs.
About the Role:*Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils’ learning and emotional development.
*Implement individualised learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher.
*Support communication using tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables.
*Engage pupils through sensory activities, play, and structured routines.
*Assist with personal care and promote independence.
About You:*Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting).
*Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a positive approach to challenges.
*Knowledge of autism support strategies, sensory needs, or communication aids is an advantage.
*Team player with excellent communication skills.
