Job Description:
Our client is a respected public sector body which is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to join a friendly, knowledgeable finance team working at the centre of a high-profile environment. This role offers the chance to contribute to the financial stewardship of £bs of investments, collaborating closely with internal colleagues, outsourced partners, HM Treasury and other key external stakeholders.
You’ll play an important part in delivering statutory accounts for presentation to Parliament, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and the government’s financial reporting manual. You’ll also provide assurance across a wide range of retail savings products, review complex financial information, and support the maintenance of effective financial controls. The role includes involvement in treasury management activity and offers scope to influence improvements, support decision-making and contribute to wider transformation initiatives.
You should be a fully qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience, excellent analytical capability, an eye for detail and the confidence to work with auditors and senior stakeholders. Exposure to a high transaction volume environment would be very helpful. A collaborative mindset, sound judgement and the ability to interpret and explain complex information will be essential.
This is a great opportunity to broaden your impact in a unique public-sector setting, contribute to high-profile statutory reporting, and build strong relationships across a varied stakeholder landscape. If you enjoy applying technical rigour to real-world financial challenges and want to help shape effective public financial management, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
Locations include London / Lytham / Durham / Glasgow and 40-60% office attendance will be required.
