Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Associate to join a nationally recognised legal team based in Leeds. This role is ideal for a driven professional with experience in healthcare litigation or personal injury who is keen to work on high-quality defendant clinical negligence matters within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
About the Role
You will manage a varied and engaging caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims on behalf of a diverse client base, including NHS Trusts, NHS Resolution, medical defence organisations, independent healthcare providers and medical malpractice insurers.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a broad caseload of defendant clinical negligence files from instruction through to resolution
*Drafting legal documents, preparing court bundles and meeting all court and procedural deadlines
*Attending client meetings, settlement discussions and mediations
*Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice
*Working in accordance with client protocols, internal procedures and regulatory requirements
*Supporting team initiatives such as training sessions, knowledge sharing, client seminars and business development
Requirements
*Qualified Solicitor or Associate with experience in clinical negligence, personal injury, or insurance litigation
*Experience working with NHS Resolution or medical defence organisations is desirable but not essential
*Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills, with experience using electronic case management systems
*Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a pragmatic and commercial approach to workload
*Outstanding communication and client care skills, with a professional and empathetic manner
*A collaborative team player, willing to mentor and support junior colleagues
