We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Tax to oversee the tax practice of a prestigious client within the professional services sector. This role offers the chance to lead a diverse team and manage a varied client portfolio, providing a unique blend of autonomy and professional challenge.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead the tax department, ensuring efficient management and meeting of all operational targets.
*Produce and analyse reports to enhance departmental efficiencies and set strategic goals.
*Conduct regular meetings to review progress and align departmental objectives with overall business goals.
*Oversee the training and development of team members, ensuring high standards of performance.
*Manage client interactions, providing expert tax advice and maintaining high levels of service.
*Develop and implement strategies for client acquisition and retention.
*Coordinate with external agencies for outsourcing tax processes when necessary.
*Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
*Produce and disseminate technical content such as newsletters and detailed tax planning reports.
*Manage a select portfolio of high-priority clients, ensuring compliance and providing bespoke advice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*CTA qualification preferred, with substantial experience in a leadership role within tax practice.
*Expert knowledge of tax regulations, especially pertaining to private clients, non-domiciled individuals, and SMEs.
*Proven ability to manage a client portfolio through complex tax cycles.
*Strong research skills with the capability to formulate detailed advice and reports.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of handling sensitive client situations with discretion.
*Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of developing successful teams.
*Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
