Town Planner
Location: Newmarket
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their Newmarket office. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with early career experience to take the next step within a supportive, growing, and highly respected practice.

The Role
As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning consultancy services across a wide range of development projects. You’ll work closely with senior team members while also taking on increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and managing planning applications, appeals, and planning statements
* Undertaking research, site appraisals, and policy analysis
* Supporting the delivery of planning strategies and development advice
* Liaising with clients, local authorities, and external consultants
* Preparing documents for submission and attending meetings where required
* Contributing to project delivery across multiple sectors
About You
The ideal Town Planner will bring initiative, professionalism, and a genuine enthusiasm for planning.
Requirements:
* RTPI-accredited Town Planning degree or master’s
* Relevant experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good understanding of the UK planning system
* Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects
* A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
