Head of Service

We are seeking a Head of Service for Thorpe House Specialist Adult Mental Health Unit. This pivotal role involves direct leadership, people management, and career development of the Managers within Thorpe House. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the performance and regulatory compliance of the unit, ensuring high standards of mental health care and operational efficiency.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead and support the management team at Thorpe House, ensuring the achievement of quality, customer, financial, and growth targets.
*Oversee all regulated activities, ensuring compliance with legislative standards and CQC regulations.
*Act as the CQC registered Nominated individual, carrying out responsibilities to ensure the service is run safely and effectively.
*Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.
*Liaise with internal staff and external entities such as local councils, healthcare services, and contractors to maintain and enhance service delivery.
*Manage and direct all operational activities to meet the organisation’s objectives efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Level 5 leadership and management certificate or higher.
*Experience in a managerial role within a healthcare or mental health care setting.
*Registered Mental Nurse with current PIN or other relevant nursing qualification is desirable.
*Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Health and Safety Act, and other relevant legislation.
*Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*Experience with data protection and employment law.
