What you’ll do:
You will be at the heart of the organisation’s financial operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve producing high-quality management accounts that offer meaningful insights into business performance. You will work collaboratively with various teams to analyse profitability across different revenue streams such as services, events, and memberships. By presenting your findings to senior management, you will help shape strategic decisions that drive growth. In addition to reporting duties, you will be responsible for maintaining robust forecasting models, supporting new business initiatives through detailed financial modelling, and ensuring all transactional finance activities are managed efficiently. Your ability to maintain accurate records in Xero and complete month-end processes promptly will be crucial for success. You will also play an important role in upholding internal controls, supporting statutory filings such as VAT returns, assisting with audit preparation, and continuously seeking ways to improve financial processes.
*Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts accompanied by detailed narrative analysis to support business understanding.
*Report on key financial metrics and cost drivers, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions.
*Conduct regular profitability and margin analysis on services, events, and memberships to ensure optimal resource allocation.
*Present clear and concise financial insight directly to the senior management team to facilitate informed discussions.
*Collaborate closely with heads of department to prepare and manage annual budgets that align with organisational goals.
*Maintain rolling forecasts throughout the year and provide thorough explanations for any variances observed.
*Support financial modelling for new initiatives and capital projects by providing robust data analysis and scenario planning.
*Manage day-to-day financial activities including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, accruals, and prepayments to ensure smooth operations.
*Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial data within Xero accounting software, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
*Ensure month-end processes are completed accurately and on time while maintaining comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with year-end accounts preparation.

*Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with proven experience in management accounting roles within similar sectors.
*Demonstrated experience working in hospitality, leisure, property or multi-entity environments is highly advantageous for understanding complex business structures.
*Advanced skills using Xero accounting software are essential along with confidence in Excel for financial modelling tasks.
*Exceptional attention to detail combined with accuracy ensures reliable reporting and data integrity across all functions.
*A problem-solving mindset enables you to identify issues quickly and propose effective solutions that benefit the wider team.
*Strong interpersonal skills allow you to liaise effectively across operations as well as senior management levels fostering collaboration.
