Job Description:
?? Mechanical Fitter – Material Handling Equipment
?? Location: Glasgow
?? Pay: £18 – £21 per hour (DOE)
?? Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of material handling equipment including forklifts, telehandlers, pallet trucks, and more. You’ll work both in our workshop and occasionally on-site, ensuring our fleet remains in peak condition.
Key Responsibilities
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on rental equipment
*Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
*Conduct safety checks and inspections
*Maintain accurate service records
*Collaborate with the workshop team to meet deadlines and customer expectations
What We’re Looking For
*Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, ideally in material handling or plant equipment
*Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Full UK driving licence preferred
*Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) desirable
