Senior Bookkeeper
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent
Location: East Grinstead
Salary: £28,000 – £39,000 (FTE), dependent on experience
Reed Crawley is working with an independent firm of Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisors is currently expanding and who are seeking a skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be confident managing multiple client accounts and proactive in adapting to the upcoming Making Tax Digital (MTD) changes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carry out day-to-day bookkeeping for a variety of clients across different sectors
*Prepare and submit VAT returns and monthly CIS returns accurately and punctually
*Assist in compiling annual accounts from both complete and incomplete records
*Communicate directly with clients and HMRC to resolve queries
*Supervise bookkeeping tasks undertaken by other team members
*Attend relevant training seminars as needed
*Perform general office duties to support the wider team
Skills & Experience Required:
*At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role within a practice
*Proficient in Sage50, Excel, Xero, and QuickBooks
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing accounts
*Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
*Collaborative team player within a small, supportive firm
*Familiarity with MTD changes and experience handling VAT and CIS
*AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential
