Job Title: Practice Accountant
Location: Newport, Telford
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent (5 days per week)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Accounts Preparer to join our team. This role involves preparing accounts for a variety of clients across multiple sectors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. You will work closely with senior accountants who will review your work and provide guidance as needed.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients across different industries.
*Complete VAT returns and assist with management accounts as required.
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards and client-specific requirements.
*Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information and resolve queries.
*Maintain accurate records and documentation for all client work.
*Collaborate with senior accountants for review and feedback on completed work.
*Support ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects as directed by the senior team.
Skills & Experience Required
*Qualifications: AAT Level 4 or equivalent; working towards ACCA or similar qualification is desirable.
*Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in an accounting practice environment preparing accounts for multiple clients.
*Strong knowledge of VAT, bookkeeping, and year-end processes.
*Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
*Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
