SC Cleared Node.js Developer
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based only)
Contract Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
Day Rate: £500-£550/day
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance
Duration: Until 31/03/2025

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Node.js Developer to join a long-term government programme within the UK defence sector. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining secure back-end services and APIs using Node.js and modern cloud technologies. You’ll work as part of a collaborative agile team delivering scalable solutions that support national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop and maintain back-end services using Node.js and Express.js
*Write clean, testable, and efficient code following best practices
*Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with defence standards
*Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
*Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments
Essential Skills & Experience
*Active Security Check (SC) Clearance
*Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/Typescript
*Experience with Express.js, Restful APIs, and micro services architecture
*Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and containerised environments
*Knowledge of secure coding practices and data protection standards
*Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable Skills
*Experience in the defence or public sector
*Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab, or GitHub Actions
*Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
