Machinist
*Cheddar, Somerset
*£35,000 - £40,000 + overtime available
*08:00-17:00, Mon-Fri
*Permanent
We are currently seeking a skilled Machinist to join our workshop team in Cheddar. The Machinist will be responsible for repairing gearboxes, electrical motors, and pumps, as well as performing specific tasks as required by the Workshop Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Undertake repairs of gearboxes, electric motors, and pumps.
*Ensure deadlines are met to align with customer expectations.
*Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
*Adhere to Health and Safety protocols.
*Complete workshop documentation and pass to the Workshop Manager.
*Fill out daily timesheets.
*Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
*Be available for call-out shifts or overtime as directed by the Workshop Manager.
*Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience with gearboxes, electrical motors, and pumps.
*Basic computer skills.
*Knowledge of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
*Team player with excellent communication skills.
*Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
*Good timekeeping skills are essential.
