Job Description:
Overall purpose:
As Commercial Accountant you will be expected to control the financial figures within the system and produce timely, complete and accurate reporting and analysis that supports both governance and business decision making.
Mandatory skills and process:
*Part-Qualified member of an accounting body (ACCA/CIMA)
*Confident with Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot Tables, basic macros) which can be further developed
*Knowledge of all finance functions (purchase ledger, sales ledger, general ledger)
*Successful completion and appraisal of probationary period
*All relevant site/area policies, procedures, and practices
Job responsibilities, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
*Experience of an ERP system (e.g. Sage 200) within a manufacturing environment
*Full knowledge of the financial processes which impact on the accounts
*Close of years trading, balancing of ledgers, WIP and production of annual Statutory Accounts
*Liaise with external Auditors and Tax consultants
*Preparation and review of financial reports including month end reporting packs to deadlines
*Preparation and submission of statutory VAT returns
*Generation of analytical reports comparing actual performance versus planned, recommending actions improve
*Implement process change to add value to core processes
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
*Involved in Day to Day running of a busy finance department
*Responsibility for and control of the financial figures within the ERP system (SAGE) including all balance sheet reconciliation costs and "housekeeping" of orders.
*Assisting the Financial Controller for the production/review of Month End reporting pack to tight deadlines including Group reporting
*Production of financial reports as necessary (KPIs)
*Ad-hoc reporting as requested by team members especially in with regard to cost saving opportunities
*Improvements within all financial processes
*Recording of non-financial KPIs including production levels, labour, sales, customer service and others
*Responsible for gathering and analysing non-financial data for CSRD reporting for communication to business
*Involvement in annual budget and quality re-forecast process, in conjunction with other department within the business
*Assist in all aspects of stock accounting including stocktakes, margin reconciliation creation of new products and Bills of materials
*Complete Cash Flow forecast on timely basis, for communication internally within business
*Other requests from the Financial Controller, within the reasonable scope of the role
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE FOR EFFECTIVENESS IN ROLE:
*High level of attention to detail
*"Can-do" attitude in a position that is relied upon by all areas of the business
*Ability to continuously look for potential improvements in all areas of work
*Able to work with and analyse large amounts of data within excel/other analytical tools
*Able to concentrate on specific tasks in a busy environment
*Moderate/Advanced Excel skills
*Self-organise and reach deadlines without the need for management intervention
*Methodical and logical approach to workload and problem solving
*Proven track record of seeing projects/tasks through to completion
