Job Description:
*Full-time, 40 hours, 08:00-17:00.
*Location: CO1
*Salary: Competitive, based on experience
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting administration in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting and demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and excellence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
*Oversee and manage the purchase ledger process and personnel expenses from end to end.
*Handle bank payments and receipts, ensuring accurate financial transactions.
*Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
*Authorise and arrange weekly and monthly supplier payments, and deliver specific financial reports.
*Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany transfers, and general ledger reconciliations.
*Assist in financial reporting and preparation of year-end financial documents for external auditing.
*Manage accounts receivable and payable, including setting up customers and suppliers, and overseeing credit limits and payments.
*Supervise payroll processes, including new employee setups, wage elements, bonuses, and benefits.
*Act as a Pension Administrator, maintaining pension information, records, communications, reports, and payments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proficient in using accounting software such as Sage 50.
*Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft 365.
*Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to manage large quantities of data and prioritise tasks effectively.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of building business relationships and working well with clients and customers.
*Experience in managing teams and leading finance operations.
