ROLE: Teacher of The Deaf- Primary.
Location: Alton, Hampshire
Hours: Wednesday afternoon & all day Thursday and Friday (Permanent)
Salary: MPS £32,916 – £45,352
Closing Date: 23rd November 2025
Interview Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join our dedicated team and help deliver outstanding provision for pupils with hearing impairments. You will work alongside an existing specialist teacher and a team of Deaf Instructors and Communicator Support Workers to support 14 hearing-impaired children within a mainstream primary setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by promoting inclusion, independence, and high achievement for pupils with hearing impairment.
Key Responsibilities
*Teach and support hearing-impaired pupils within the resource provision and mainstream classes.
*Collaborate with mainstream colleagues to ensure effective inclusion and high-quality learning experiences.
*Lead on writing EHCPs and planning tailored learning for pupils.
*Manage and support a team of Communicators and foster strong relationships with parents.
*Work confidently with multi-agency teams, including speech and language specialists.
*Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in meeting individual needs and adopting alternative strategies.
About You
*Qualified Teacher Status plus a mandatory qualification in hearing impairment (including BSL Level 2 or equivalent), or equivalent specialist qualification.
*Recent experience teaching children with hearing impairment in a primary setting.
*Strong leadership skills and ability to support staff in planning inclusive learning.
*Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
*Commitment to valuing children and helping them reach their full potential.
