About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and proactive SEMH Outreach Worker to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Calderdale. This role involves delivering bespoke interventions in homes, community spaces, and partner schools to help pupils re-engage with education and develop emotional resilience.
You will work closely with families, schools, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for vulnerable learners.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small group outreach support for pupils with SEMH needs.
*Implement trauma-informed strategies and behaviour management techniques.
*Deliver tailored learning and wellbeing sessions aligned with individual plans.
*Liaise with schools, parents, and professionals to ensure joined-up support.
*Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
*Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Requirements
*Previous experience in SEMH, outreach, or alternative provision settings.
*Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
*Ability to work independently and travel between sites (driver preferred).
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Resilience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
*A valid Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
