We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join an Alternative Provision in Pudsey, Leeds. This setting supports pupils who have experienced challenges in mainstream education and require tailored interventions to help them thrive both academically and emotionally.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, behavioural difficulties, and additional SEND requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
*Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm learning environment.
*Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning plans.
*Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills.
*Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions.
*Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Requirements
*Previous experience in SEMH, Alternative Provision, or specialist education settings.
*Strong understanding of behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches.
*Team Teach or similar training (desirable).
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
*A valid Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
