Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading UK metal manufacturer to recruit a number of experienced CNC Machinists for their facility in the Bradford area. The successful candidate will operate and maintain machine tools to produce high-quality engineering components, ensuring parts meet the required standards and specifications, whilst helping to drive machine efficiency and output across shifts
The Role: CNC Miller
Location: Bradford Area
Employment Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 3 shifts
Salary: c£48,000
Key Responsibilities
*Set and operate CNC Milling Machines in line with standard operating procedures and setup documentation.
*Produce and inspect components to drawing specifications, ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved.
*Follow production plans to ensure jobs are completed on time.
*Monitor tool life and conduct tool changes when needed.
*Escalate material, tooling, drawing, machine or process concerns promptly.
*Support quality investigations and contribute to root-cause analysis.
*Maintain excellent housekeeping and uphold 6S standards across the department.
*Provide on-the-job training to apprentices, new starters and existing team members as required.
*Assist with quality investigations — helping to identify root causes of any issues.
*Maintain strict adherence to departmental housekeeping and 6S / clean-floor standards.
*Offer on-the-job training and guidance to apprentices, new starters, or existing employees where required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
*Solid understanding of engineering principles (mandatory).
*Proficiency with NC control systems (mandatory).
*Familiarity with quality systems and procedures (mandatory).
*Good numeracy / maths skills (mandatory).
*Experience in manufacturing small-batch, complex components in a similar engineering or manufacturing environment.
*Apprenticeship-trained engineer (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Turning, Grinding or Milling.
*Previous exposure to manual and/or CNC machining in a busy engineering/manufacturing setting.
