SEMH Teaching Assistant – Flexible Hours Available
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Wakefield area.
About the Role:
*Work with pupils aged 4–11 years who have SEMH needs and may display challenging behaviour.
*Support children in both classroom and 1:1 settings, helping them to engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.
*Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
*Previous experience working with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or similar roles in education or care settings.
*Strong communication skills and a calm, resilient approach.
*Ability to build positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively.
