Hockey Coach – Saturdays (Term Time)
Location: Kent
Hours: Saturday’s (typically mornings to early afternoon)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications
Reed Education is delighted to be working on behalf of a respected secondary school to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable Hockey Coach to support their Saturday hockey programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young players, develop their skills, and help them represent their school with pride.
About the Role
As part of the school’s sports team, you will:
*Coach and support teams during Saturday fixtures.
*Lead structured warm-ups and pre-match preparations.
*Umpire hockey matches in line with official rules and regulations.
*Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to players to aid skill development.
*Work collaboratively with the Head of Hockey and other staff members.
*Ensure pupil behaviour and sportsmanship reflect the school’s values.
*Respond appropriately to injuries and incidents during matches.
*Represent the school positively when interacting with other schools and officials.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
*Strong knowledge of hockey rules, tactics, and coaching principles.
*Confidence in umpiring school-level fixtures.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to motivate and manage young individuals positively.
*A calm, professional approach to managing behaviour and competition.
*A valid licence and ability to drive a minibus.
Desirable:
*Hockey coaching or umpiring qualifications.
*Previous experience coaching or officiating at school or club level.
*Safeguarding training and First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete one).
