Job Description:
Hours: 6 per week (term time only) - Dependent on students’ timetables
Location: Kent

About the Role
Reporting to the SENCo and working closely with the wider SEND team, you will:
*Deliver 1:1 sessions and small group interventions to support students with communication and interaction difficulties, including those with EHCPs.
*Coach and mentor pupils to build confidence, improve social communication, and develop self-regulation strategies.
*Lead focus groups (4–6 students) to enhance language use, active listening, and positive interaction skills.
*Support transition programmes for students joining the school from local feeder schools.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
*Maintain accurate records, update pupil profiles, and contribute to annual reviews for EHCP students.
*Promote inclusive classroom practices and provide advice to staff on communication strategies.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
*A good standard of education, including strong literacy and numeracy skills.
*At least 3 years’ experience supporting children with communication and interaction needs in a school or community setting.
*Strong understanding of SEND legislation and child development.
*Excellent communication skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
*Experience working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
