Management Accountant, Bromley - £40,000 - £50,000
Our client, a well-established and growing legal firm, is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making and strengthening the firm’s financial operations. You will work closely with senior stakeholders in a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare monthly management accounts (P\&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
*Deliver variance analysis, commentary, and financial insights for senior leadership.
*Oversee cash flow management and maintain robust financial controls.
*Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal entries accurately.
*Process monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with HMRC and timely submissions.
*Handle client account reconciliations in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs).
*Oversee VAT returns, tax submissions, and statutory filings.
*Support with ad hoc finance projects as required.
Skills & Experience
*3–5 years’ experience in management accounting or financial management.
*Proven experience in payroll processing and compliance.
*Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
*Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
*Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
*Previous experience in a law firm.
*Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs).
Desirable:
*ACA, ACCA, CIMA (qualified or part-qualified).
*Experience with legal accounting software (e.g., Proclaim, Action Step).
*Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.
