Job Description:
Our client, based in Birmingham are currently seeking a Procurement Manager who will play a key role in delivering value across a diverse portfolio of categories. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that they can be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including the development and management of contracts that deliver best-in-class pricing, robust terms and conditions, and full compliance with relevant legislation and public sector procurement regulations.
In this role you will
*Lead procurement projects across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer needs
*Develop and manage supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and value for money
*Draft, convey, and manage contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
*Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality procurement solutions
*Provide leadership and support to direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
*Monitor and report on procurement performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains


Within this role you will need to have strong knowledge of the categories you will manage, and work with suppliers to build strategies, mitigate risks, anticipate direction of the market and potential supplier direction. You will also need to demonstrate a thorough understanding and accountability for the sourcing process for your assigned portfolio. Including market research, bid drafting and preparation, RFI, Strategy Development & Validation, SQ, RFP/ITT, bid evaluation, contract Negotiations, contract management and contract launch
When managing your team within the organisation you will support colleague development, deliver appraisals and live the organisations values while meeting financial and operational targets for your area of responsibility.
