Job Description:
Job Title: Trainee Commercial Insurance Broker
Location: Worcester (office-based)
Salary: £30,000
Benefits: Structured development programme, mentoring and training towards full broker status; supportive, collaborative environment; clear long-term career path into Commercial Insurance Broking.
About the Company:
You’ll join a well-established regional insurance broker specialising in commercial and corporate clients. The firm has a strong reputation for client service, professionalism and growth — and is committed to developing talent internally. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll benefit from structured training, exposure to real clients, and a genuine opportunity for upward progression into a fully qualified Commercial Insurance Broker role.
Role Summary:
We’re looking for an ambitious, driven individual who wants to build a career in commercial insurance. This is not a routine support role - you’ll be learning the trade from the ground up, working alongside experienced brokers, engaging with commercial clients, handling quotes, policy administration, and eventually managing your own portfolio. If you’re motivated, keen to learn, and ready for a long-term career, this is a great place to start.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting senior brokers with client enquiries - giving you early exposure to commercial insurance at scale.
• Assisting with quotations, policy documentation and administration — building your technical knowledge and precision.
• Helping to manage renewals, claims liaison and client communication — developing relationship and service skills.
• Contributing to business development efforts - giving you a chance to learn the sales and commercial side of broking.
• Participating in training and professional development - supporting your progression into a full broker role.
Requirements:
• Professional experience - but not necessarily in insurance (sales, customer service, finance, or admin experience is fine).
• Strong communication skills - oral and written, with confidence engaging with clients.
• Good level of numeracy, organisation skills and attention to detail.
• Ambition and drive - a desire to build a long-term career and develop into a commercial broker.
• Ability to learn quickly, work well under guidance, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
If this role doesn’t feel like the right fit right now, it’s still worth chatting - we may be working on something similar that hasn’t yet been advertised.
