Demand Planning Manager
12 Month FTC
Salary: £55,000 plus benefits
Manchester – Hybrid Working

If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business as Demand Planning Manager.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the demand planning function, developing accurate forecasts, shaping long-term category plans, and optimising inventory to ensure the right products are available at the right time. You’ll work closely with teams across the business—including Category Management, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Product—to align demand plans with commercial goals and support ongoing growth.
You will also mentor and guide a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop robust long-term (3+ years) category-level plans.
*Build and maintain 18-month SKU-level sales forecasts using market data and commercial insights.
*Analyse forecast performance and identify risks, gaps, and opportunities.
*Support strategic range reviews, including product lifecycle management.
*Manage open-to-buy, inventory levels, and identify excess stock with clear action plans.
*Create detailed purchase and replenishment forecasts to meet availability and stock turn targets.
*Collaborate closely with Procurement, Suppliers, Marketing, Product, and Finance to align planning activity.
*Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
*Lead, develop, and motivate the demand planning team.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
*Significant experience in demand planning or supply chain planning (consumer goods, seasonal products, or FMCG preferred).
*Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/Power BI capability.
*Experience working with forecasting tools and implementing or integrating ERP systems.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Ability to work under pressure with seasonal peaks and tight deadlines.
*Strong understanding of inventory management and forecasting methodologies.
*Proven track record in driving demand accuracy and optimising sales/margin.
*Experience leading or mentoring a team.
Desirable:
*Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
*Multi-channel exposure (wholesale, retail, e-commerce).
Qualifications
*Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
