An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Duty Solicitor to join our clients Crime Department. Our client is ideally seeking 2 years’ PQE, but it also welcoming applications from newly qualified Solicitors.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage your own criminal law caseload
*Assist the Head of Department on complex matters
*Advocate in court on a wide variety of cases
*Prepare cases for Crown Court
*Represent clients at police stations
*Act as a Duty Solicitor
*Work outside office hours when required
*Travel between offices, courts and police stations as needed
Requirements:
*Qualified Duty Criminal Solicitor (2 years PQE preferred; NQs considered)
*Strong case and time management skills
*Excellent communication and organisational abilities
*Proficiency in IT
*Professional, polite and patient manner
*Ability to meet office targets, budgets and billing requirements
*Sound knowledge of Criminal Law
*Understanding of Law Society requirements for private practice
*Commitment to ongoing training and development
*Higher Rights of Audience desirable
