Solicitor / Associate – Professional Indemnity & Regulatory Defence

We are seeking a talented and motivated Solicitor or Associate to join our team specialising in the defence of professional indemnity claims, primarily against solicitors, with occasional matters involving other professions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-value litigation and regulatory defence matters for leading law firms and insurers.
Day-to-day of the role:
Professional Indemnity Defence:
*Act on behalf of solicitors and other professionals in defending negligence claims.
*Manage multi-track, complex litigation cases, often involving large national law firms and claims valued in the multi-million-pound range.
Regulatory Defence:
*Assist in defending clients in SRA investigations and proceedings before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT).
*Provide strategic advice on regulatory compliance and risk management.
Policy Coverage Advice:
*Advise insurers on policy coverage issues, exclusions, and interpretation of indemnity provisions.
*Draft clear and concise coverage opinions and assist in resolving disputes.
Client Relationship Management:
*Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, law firms, and other stakeholders.
*Deliver exceptional client service and timely, commercially focused advice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3+ years PQE (flexible depending on experience).
*Strong background in professional indemnity litigation, ideally with exposure to solicitor negligence claims.
*Experience in regulatory defence work (SRA investigations, SDT hearings) is highly desirable.
*Excellent knowledge of insurance law and policy coverage issues.
*Proven ability to manage complex, multi-track litigation with high-value claims.
*Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
