A leading manufacturer in the composites sector is seeking a Buyer to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials and site services that support the production of highly technical products for global aerospace and industrial clients. If you are passionate about making an impact within a forward-thinking manufacturing setting, this role provides the platform for you to grow your career while enjoying flexible working opportunities.
What You’ll Do:
As a Buyer, you will immerse yourself in a diverse range of procurement activities that underpin the success of advanced manufacturing operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve
*Coordinating purchase requisitions by raising purchase orders and closely monitoring supplier delivery dates to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
*Developing effective relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.
*Taking responsibility for all purchasing projects as assigned by the Procurement Manager, including those involving site services, production composites materials, machined metallics, and other general commodities on an international scale.
*Negotiating purchases of goods and services with a focus on achieving optimal cost, quality, and lead time outcomes for the organisation.
What You Bring:
Your proven track record in purchasing within a manufacturing setting equips you with the practical knowledge needed to navigate complex supply chains efficiently.
*Demonstrable purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
*A solid understanding of MRP systems.
*CIPS or MCIPS qualification is essential.
*Experience within the aerospace or composites industry would be advantageous as it provides valuable context for sourcing specialised materials.
*Knowledge of composite raw materials or site services procurement is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is equally valued.
The Company:
This organisation stands out as one of Europe’s most respected manufacturers within the composites sector due to its unwavering commitment to technical excellence, continuous growth strategy, and investment in state-of-the-art facilities. The company’s comprehensive benefits package includes salary sacrifice-led pension plans matching up to 7%, free life assurance cover worth four times basic annual salary, 25 days’ holiday plus options for additional leave purchase each year, enhanced family-friendly policies such as company sick pay schemes, access to an employee assistance programme supporting physical/mental/financial wellbeing needs alongside cultural/environmental enrichment activities. Staff enjoy competitive discounts via leading retailers/brands through an internal rewards platform while participating in cycle-to-work schemes designed around sustainable commuting options. Professional development is supported through structured training opportunities so that employees can continue growing their careers within this forward-thinking environment.
