Instrument Technician
*Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
*Location: Western Australia
*Salary: £2,500 per week (after tax)
*Start Date: Early January
We are seeking experienced Instrument Technicians for a major industrial project in the Petrochemical / Oil & Gas sectors in Western Australia. This role is ideal for professionals ready to engage in a dynamic work environment with a 3 weeks on / 1 week off roster.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Perform calibrations, loop checking, function testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation including flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters.
*Test fire and gas systems and work on shutdown and control valves for large-scale industrial projects.
*Read and interpret P&IDs, data sheets, calibration reports, loop drawings, cause & effect diagrams, and supplier manuals.
*Utilise various test and calibration equipment effectively.
*Adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
*Collaborate within a dynamic testing and start-up team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in installation, commissioning, and fault finding in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical environments.
*Instrument and Control qualification (HNC, NVQ, or completed apprenticeship).
*Ability to perform loop checking.
*Valid Driver’s License.
*Clean criminal record.
*Knowledge of Foundation Fieldbus is advantageous but not essential.
