My client a historic London based retail business are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations of their bookkeeping processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a unique and heritage environment.

Salary £35000 - £42000
*You will be required to work 5 days in the office.
*Office located within a historic art bookshop in a beautiful part of London.
*Please note: the office has no windows, so candidates should be comfortable working in this environment.
*Small, close-knit team with a passion for art and literature.
Responsibilities:
Daily/Monthly
*Bank reconciliations for five bank accounts.
*Petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
*Day-end account posting and reconciliations.
*Supplier invoice postings, analysis and payments.
*Sales ledger analysis and credit control
*Monthly Payroll and Pension control
*Stocktaking and consignment tracking
*Filing and administrative support
Quarterly/Yearly
*VAT submissions
*US Sales Tax submissions.
*Companies House filings and confirmations.
*End of year procedures including trail balance, P&L, balance sheet and ledger reports.
*Reconciliation of suspense accounts and outstanding ledgers.
About you
*Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
*Strong knowledge of accounting principles and UK tax regulations.
*Proficiency in modern accounting software e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Ability to manage change and bring stakeholders on board with new processes.
*Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
