Semi-Senior Accountant

*Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
Join a highly respected accountancy practice based in Hertfordshire as an Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with at least two years of experience in an accountancy practice to join a growing team. You will work with a varied portfolio of clients, contributing to the firm’s success in accounts, tax, advisory, and audit services.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare and present complete accounts files to the accounts manager for review, covering sole traders, partnerships, and corporate entities.
*Prepare basic business tax and personal tax computations.
*Assist with compliance tasks such as KYC and AML checks.
*Train juniors and assist with their queries.
*Directly handle tasks as requested by partners or the accounts manager.
*Prepare VAT returns and liaise directly with clients.
*Review and implement client bookkeeping systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*ACA/ACCA part-qualified or AAT qualified.
*2-3 years of practice experience.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
*Experience with accounting packages such as IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.
*Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
*Excellent customer service approach and interpersonal skills.
*High attention to detail and accuracy.
*Flexible and adaptable attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team.
*Ability to recover all chargeable time regularly.
