Job Description:
Customer Service Officer
*Hourly Rate: £13.12
*Location: Oxford
*Job Type: Temporary, Immediate Start, full time Monday to Friday
Join a vital team within a local authority in Oxford as a Customer Service Officer. This entry-level position offers an immediate start and plays a crucial role in processing high volumes of customer applications for various council services including HMO Licensing, Building Control, Planning, and more. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills in a dynamic environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Handle customer calls and process payments efficiently.
*Use procedure notes and complex information systems to process applications to a high standard.
*Respond to a high volume of emails and manage customer interactions.
*Depending on the service area, tasks may include reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and maps.
*Use Excel spreadsheets to manage a caseload of client contacts.
*Check customer documentation and input details into Council systems.
*Adapt quickly to changes in legislation and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*A keen eye for detail and a strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
*Openness to learning new skills and adapting to new challenges.
*Excellent customer service skills, with experience in handling phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
*Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and other IT systems.
*Ability to quickly learn and retain information is crucial.
