Inspiring Temp-to-Perm Teaching Opportunity – Transform Lives Every Day
Are you a passionate, creative teacher looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? This is your chance to join a fantastic Private Specialist Provision in Hook, Hampshire—a unique residential special school that feels more like a home than a classroom.
About The School:
Founded in 1988, The school is a specialist independent school for children aged 8–19 with profound autism, severe learning difficulties, and associated complex behaviours. With a capacity of 30 pupils and over 180 dedicated staff, the school provides 52-week residential care and education, ensuring consistency and stability for children who need it most. Every child receives highly personalised support, combining education, therapy, and life skills development in a nurturing environment. The school’s ethos is built on positive behaviour support (PROACT-SCIPr-UK®) and a holistic approach that values creativity, dignity, and independence.
Why This Role Is Exceptional:
*Creative Freedom: No traditional classroom constraints—design engaging, hands-on activities that spark joy and curiosity.
*Whole-Child Focus: Education and care are fully integrated, supported by a multidisciplinary team.
*Year-Round Learning: Help children build essential life skills and prepare for adulthood in a truly holistic way.
Your Responsibilities:
*Lead the education and care of a small group of children, supported by a dedicated team.
*Develop and monitor personalised learning and care plans.
*Bring creativity and flexibility to curriculum planning and delivery.
*Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment that adapts and includes all pupils.
What We’re Looking For:
*Qualified Teacher Status with SEN experience.
*Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties and autism.
*Understanding of the National Curriculum and differentiation.
*A proactive, problem-solving mindset and passion for inclusive education.
(Knowledge of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® is desirable—training will be provided)
What’s On Offer:
*Competitive pay (Teacher Pay Scale M1–M6)
*Funded qualifications and career development
*Free staff meals, on-site parking, and wellbeing support
*Discounted gym membership and generous referral scheme
*Excellent transition period to allow you to feel comfortable whilst adapting to the school life and ethos
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, plus one Saturday in every 7 for fun weekend activities. Annual leave can be taken during term time or school holidays for flexibility!
This is more than a teaching role—it’s a chance to join a passionate team and help shape brighter futures for children with the most complex needs. Start on a temporary basis and transition into a permanent role where your creativity and compassion will be truly valued.
