About the Role

Complete Classroom Services are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and well-organised Science Technician to join a forward-thinking and supportive Science Department within a highly respected school in Southwark.
This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a department committed to delivering high-quality scientific education. You will support practical lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and SEN, ensuring students and teachers have a safe, well-maintained, and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare, set up, and test equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical science lessons.
*Support teaching staff during experiments, demonstrations, and practical activities.
*Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH and school safety policies.
*Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards across all laboratories and prep rooms.
*Carry out routine equipment maintenance and identify items needing repair or replacement.
*Maintain accurate stock inventories and assist in ordering new resources.
*Prepare displays, resources, and materials for open evenings, science fairs, and curriculum events.
*Assist with risk assessments and ensure all health & safety protocols are followed by students and staff.
*Contribute to developing engaging experiments and practical activities that enhance learning.
*Support with administrative and technical tasks within the department as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
*Have previous experience working as a Science Technician, ideally within a school setting (preferred but not essential).
*Hold a science-related qualification (A-Level or higher is desirable).
*Have good understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and COSHH regulations.
*Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
*Work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
*Communicate clearly with teachers, students, and colleagues.
*Show a genuine interest in science education and supporting student progress.
