As a Learning Support Assistant, your guidance will empower pupils with additional needs to thrive academically and socially. Your role is more than support—it’s about building confidence, fostering independence, and making a lasting difference every single day.
About the Role:
*Work closely with pupils who have additional needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
*Provide one-to-one and small group support to help children access the curriculum, as well as supporting the class teacher.
*Encourage social development and positive peer interactions.
*Support the development of self-help and communication skills.
*Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement.
*Collaborate with class teachers and the SENDCo to plan, review, and contribute to Individual Education Plans.
What We’re Looking For:
*A professional, caring, and proactive approach.
*Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
*Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team and show flexibility.
*Resilience, compassion, and a positive attitude.
*Experience working with primary-aged children and an understanding of SEND is desirable.
