Join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Sutton, committed to nurturing young minds and supporting every child’s educational journey. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom preparation, and individual student support. This is a full-time position, available on both a temporary and permanent basis, ideal for someone passionate about education and child development, with the flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
*Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
*Support the preparation of classroom materials and resources
*Provide one-to-one support for students with learning difficulties or additional needs
*Supervise pupils during classroom activities, playtimes, and transitions
*Help with student assessments and maintain accurate records
*Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Requirements:
*GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
*Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
*Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (essential)
*Prior experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable)
*Understanding of child development and learning processes
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work collaboratively within a team
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*First Aid certification (preferred)
*Additional training or qualifications in education or childcare (preferred)
Working Conditions:
*Full-time or part-time hours available
*Classroom-based role, working closely with young children
*May involve physical tasks such as setting up equipment or supporting active play
