Job Description:
A respected legal practice is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor (Grade B or equivalent) to join its established team in Leeds. The position offers fully remote working, with the requirement to attend the Leeds office once a month, giving you the flexibility to work from home while still engaging with colleagues in person when needed – providing an ideal blend of independence and team collaboration.
This is an important role within a thriving Clinical Negligence department known for its expertise in handling complex, high-value claims. The team includes accredited specialists with a strong reputation in claimant clinical negligence work, creating an excellent environment for professional growth.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of clinical negligence matters, focusing on proactive case progression, delivering exceptional client service and maintaining strong commercial awareness. Collaboration is central to the role and you will work closely with colleagues across all levels, sharing insight and contributing to the team’s overall success.
There will also be opportunities to mentor and support junior team members.
This role is ideal for an experienced solicitor seeking career advancement within a progressive, supportive and forward-thinking legal practice where your contribution will be recognised and valued.
Key Responsibilities
You will run a clinical negligence caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, making strategic decisions, liaising with clients and medical experts, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements and litigating when required. You will be expected to contribute to departmental targets, support the handling of complex cases and take an active role in achieving the team’s wider objectives.
Requirements
You should be a qualified solicitor with at least five years’ post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience, in clinical negligence litigation. You must be confident managing a varied and complex caseload, adopting a commercial, efficient and client-focused approach to your work. Strong drafting, negotiation and communication abilities are essential, along with excellent attention to detail, good organisation and IT proficiency. You should be comfortable working autonomously while also contributing to team development through mentoring and support.
Benefits include:
*35-hour working week
*Discretionary performance-based bonus
*35 days annual leave including bank holidays and Christmas closure
*Option to purchase up to 3 additional days’ annual leave
*Additional annual leave awarded after 5, 7 and 9 years’ service
*Contributory pension scheme with salary sacrifice
*Life assurance
*Health cash plan for dental, optical and routine medical expenses
*Enhanced maternity, paternity and IVF policies
*Company sick pay
*Flexible and agile working options supporting work-life balance
*Regular firm-funded social events
*Monthly staff recognition scheme with vouchers
*Supportive and inclusive workplace culture
*Ongoing training and structured career development
