Housing Solutions Officer
*Location: Sheffield City Centre
*Job Type: Full-time, Temp
*Salary: £15.56 per hour
Join our Housing Advice and Options Service as a Housing Solutions Officer. This role is crucial in providing tailored housing advice, assessing households in housing need, and delivering effective solutions. With a strong focus on homeless prevention and customer-first approach, this position is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the community.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Interview clients, conduct housing need and homelessness assessments within statutory and policy frameworks, and maintain ongoing support and client contact.
*Carry out home visits, including visits to hospitals and other relevant sites.
*Work towards preventing homelessness, hospital admissions, and delayed discharges from various accommodations.
*Collect and progress case information from application to final outcome, including administration of reviews.
*Provide information on all available housing, support, and other related services.
*Make decisions within legal and policy frameworks to provide positive outcomes for clients.
*Assist clients in accessing specialist support services as required.
*Liaise with other statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
*Manage own targets specific to the post and respond to customer queries and complaints.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*A good understanding of the housing needs of vulnerable people.
*Experience in homelessness assessments or advice work.
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations calmly.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Knowledge of housing legislation and other laws relevant to housing advice and homelessness.
*Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage casework effectively.
