Job Description:
Role: Finance Assistant
Salary: £26,000–£28,000
Location: Milton Keynes | Full-time | Office-based role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join a growing, fast-paced business in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone with experience in finance administration, purchase ledger and sales ledger processing, who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative finance team.
As Finance Assistant, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of daily finance operations. You will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions, supporting both sales ledger and purchase ledger activity, and ensuring information is recorded promptly and in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger
*Raising and issuing sales invoices and credit notes
*Ensuring customer account information is maintained accurately
*Uploading invoices to customer portals and resolving related queries
*Supporting debtor management and preparing aged debtor reconciliations
Purchase Ledger
*Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
*Managing the shared finance mailbox and responding to queries
*Processing weekly expenses, subcontractor invoices and card transactions
*Conducting supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
General Finance Support
*Assisting with audit preparation
*Maintaining accurate documentation and SOPs
*Supporting cross-cover within the finance team during absences
*Identifying and suggesting improvements to processes and systems
Key requirements:
*Experienced in a finance or accounts support role
*Confident with double-entry bookkeeping and financial processes
*Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
*Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working to deadlines
*A strong communicator who can build positive relationships
*Proactive, reliable and keen to learn
*AAT Level 2 or working towards it (Desirable)
*Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Desirable)
