Job Description:
Overview We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice seeking an experienced Practice Manager / Client Manager to oversee a portfolio of clients and support the smooth running of the practice. This is a key role offering autonomy, client interaction, and the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s continued growth and development.
Key Responsibilities * Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact.
* Oversee year-end accounts preparation for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
* Review work prepared by junior team members and ensure high technical standards.
* Support compliance work across accounts, corporation tax and personal tax.
* Assist with workflow management, deadlines and resource planning.
* Build strong client relationships and provide practical, proactive advice.
* Support partners/directors with practice operations, processes and growth initiatives.
* Contribute to mentoring and development of junior staff.
Person Specification * ACA/ACCA qualified or strong QBE with significant practice experience.
* Proven experience managing a client portfolio within a UK accountancy practice.
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts and general tax compliance.
* Confident communicator with a professional and client-focused approach.
* Organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
* Experience using cloud accounting software (Xero preferred).
* Leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous but not essential.
