Job Description:
Project Officer (Interim, 3-6 Months)
*Location: Leicestershire
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3-6 months)
We are recruiting for a Project Manager/officer to join our client’s Special Projects Team. This interim position is crucial for the development and implementation of the Departmental Medium Term Financial Plan projects and programmes. The role demands a dynamic individual who can manage multiple projects from feasibility studies through to completion, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
*Lead and support the project management, development, and delivery of improvement programmes and projects.
*Ensure services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire, maintaining high standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
*Develop effective partnerships and working relationships with statutory, voluntary, and private agencies, as well as communities.
*Provide technical advice and write reports for Members, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and dialogue.
*Support the performance management of services and teams, contributing to the departmental business planning process.
*Represent the Department at various meetings, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars.
*Participate in recruitment, training, and development programmes to enhance service delivery and skills within the team.
*Ensure accurate project cost management by recording staff time to appropriate projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*A degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
*Strong experience in representing senior managers and engaging with customers.
*Proven ability in collaborative working with internal and external customers and key stakeholders.
*Skilled in coordination and interpretation of information from various sources to deliver projects effectively.
*Experience in producing and reviewing briefs, specifications, delivery programmes, and various reports.
*Knowledge of ICT systems, current legislation, policies, procedures relevant to the post, and principles of good project management (PRINCE2 preferred).
Special Factors:
*Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and at different locations as needed.
*Attendance at training courses, conferences, or meetings as required by training needs and service demands.
*Expenses will be paid in accordance with Local Conditions of Service.
