Job Description:
Our client, a well-known family-owned business based in Hazel Grove with an annual turnover of approximately £15m are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the business.

Role Purpose
This role will involve management of the transactional side of the business using Sage manging both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger and some involvement in payroll – there is scope to progress in this role for the right individual in a business that is continuing to grow
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Process invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
*Maintain accurate financial records and purchase ledger/sales ledger management
*Maintain the purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
*Assist in preparing and processing supplier payments
*Support credit control by monitoring outstanding payments and following up with clients
*Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
*Support VAT returns and other tax compliance requirements
*Liaise with external accountants and be a regular point of contact as well as raising any queries with them auditors and provide required documentation
*Payroll Input for companies workforce – Processing payroll
*Help improve financial processes and internal controls
*Provide general support to the Managing Director as required
About You:
*QBE, AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
*Previous experience in a similar finance role
*Strong numerical and analytical skills
*Proficient in accounting software (Preferably Sage) and Excel
*Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
*A proactive, team-oriented mindset
This is a full-time permanent role and ACCA or CIMA study support may be considered for the right candidate at the same times as this not being a necessity, this role is part of a long-term succession plan which will eventually see a member of the finance team look to take retirement.
This is an office-based role and working hours are Monday to Friday (Flexible start and finish time) and there is parking available on site.
